Ten Steps To Getting What You Love In Life
Many books have been written about the Law of Attraction. There are two revelations that seem to appear throughout most of these spiritual writings. They are: you need to be in a place of inner peace and you need to feel the feelings
of what it would be like to have the things that you desire. For example, if your desire is to start your own business, then you must spend time thinking and feeling about what it would be like to actually be running that business right now! Here are some ways that will help you get started on your spiritual journey of fulfillment.
- Create what you desire - This is the fun part and can be very therapeutic as well. Find a piece of paper and divide it into 4 quadrants. On each quadrant put headings of Body, Relationships, Career, and Home. Then write down the things that you desire in each area and beside it write why you desire this. Eg. I want to lose 30 pounds so I can go out and buy new clothes because this makes me feel good. Or - I want to remodel my bathroom because this is the room where I can be more spiritual.
- Choose your thoughts and feelings - Remember that every time you think negatively, it will come back to you…TEN-FOLD. Start turning this around by deliberately thinking positive thoughts and feelings. Have a whole list of “mood enhancers” ready to use when you are caught in a bad moment to help you to turn things around. For instance, some people love certain songs that raise their vibrations when they sing or hear them.
- Unleash the past - Most of us are stuck in our past and it is important to be aware of how we are connected to it. Take time to reflect on what past beliefs may be holding you back. We could practice releasing the hold that the past has on us by deliberately saying, for example, “ I release my need for food and I embrace balance in my life”.
- Forgive - This is a very important piece to the whole process. We must forgive others AND ourselves as we move forward. This doesn’t mean that we condone what happened to us. - Be grateful - Gratitude is one of the most important positive aspects you can have in your life. It fills your soul with Love. In everything, give thanks, as St. Paul said. Even things which at first glance seem negative. If we can look at everything as blessings, this one act will transform
our lives.
- Plan with the End in Mind - I read an article one time which said to reflect on what you would want people to say at your funeral. This final parting would be the culmination of your whole authentic life. How do you think you would be portrayed?
- Connect with your Body, Mind and Spirit - Taking care of ourselves through this process is important, because when you feel good on the outside, you feel good on the inside as well. Therefore, take care of you body with exercise and nutritious food. Keep your mind active with studying or crossword puzzles. Meditate and pray every day. This will raise your consciousness. Self-love is the key to complete healing.
- Allow it - There is a part of us that may feel we don’t deserve the things that we are asking for. Our subconscious may be influencing our thinking. It is important to affirm that we do deserve these good things that we are asking for. One great affirmation is, “ I am worthy of every good thing happening in my life.”
- Give so you can receive - In order to receive, we must first give. If we help others with their dreams, we will also be helping ourselves. It is law. This also means that we should live abundantly and we will attract more into our life, because like attracts like. Then we will have more to give back.
- Have faith - Once your desires are set in motion, have faith that they will come in perfect time-space sequence. Know that it is so, that it is already happening. Let go of the expectation of HOW our dreams will unfold. Just hold onto the belief that it WILL.
Perhaps you are looking at this list and saying - I can’t do all this, it’s too much!!! Go slowly with each step. Start with step number one and spend up to 30 days to complete it. When you feel confident that this has been mastered, go on to step two and so on. Congratulate yourself on moving in the right direction. Just do your best every day and
