The worshipping of God has been viewed historically, to be a once-a-week event, usually done inside a building called a church or temple and most often led by a religious (male) white leader. For some this may expand into weekly Bible study groups or even daily prayer and Bible reading.
The practice of spirituality is known by those who follow its path, as a tapestry woven into the complete framework of life. In fact we are drawn to make every minute a “God-moment” whether we are washing the dishes or hugging a loved one.
Therefore, in every aspect of life, we can find God and experience joy and peace. If we believe, then we will receive.
Can spirituality be part of a classroom? The article Teaching in the Now suggests ways in which teachers can practise spirituality and be models of peace for their students . This does not mean teaching religion. What it does mean is living a life well. For too long, schools have fearfully ignored the spiritual part of the three-part being of the student.
